Commercial Disputes

Commercial disputes can take many forms.  Breach of contract, fraud, partnership disputes, real estate disputes, joint ventures, insurance issues, and the like.  Often, contracts are in dispute.  These can be simple cases or complex.  Unfortunately, they tend to be expensive to litigate, regardless of the complexity involved.  It is therefore important to retain counsel who has the experience and good judgment to be able to weigh the costs and benefits of litigation.

Over the past 18 years, Tim Riley has handled many commercial disputes, in negotiation, trial, and on appeal.  He became Board-Certified in Civil Trial Law in 1992, and was re-certified in 1997.  Some examples of Mr. Riley’s commercial cases that were appealed appear at: Ideal Lease Service, Inc. v. Amoco Prod. Co., Inc., 652 S.W.2d 951 (Tex. 1983); Great Pines Water Co. v. Liqui-Box Corp., 203 F.3d 920 (5th Cir. 2000); and Super Syndicate, Ltd. v. Salazar, 762 S.W.2d 749 (Tex. App. – Houston [14th Dist.] 1988) (orig. proc.).
